Acid Wash Services for Cleaner, Brighter Pool Surfaces
What is an acid wash and why is it done? An acid wash is performed on a pool’s plaster, pebble tec, or quartz surface to lighten, brighten, whiten, and remove stains, chemicals, and minerals from the walls. A mixture of muriatic acid and water are mixed together in varying strengths depending on the age of the pool and the degree of staining. Older pools with more staining may use a more concentrated acid-water mix than younger pools with less staining. In general, we find good results can be attained from pools that are 15 years or younger, depending on how they have been maintained. Pools 15 years or older we find do not have very good results from an acid wash.
If your pool has a high CYA or cyanuric acid level, it is recommended to do an acid wash to help pull the CYA from the walls of your pool. Contact us today to learn more about how an acid wash can benefit your pool!
